This Christmas was THE BEST yet. Turner is 6 and Gracie is 3, so it was truly magical. We don’t stress the whole “Santa” thing too much. We use him more as a symbol of giving without expecting in return. But we talk about him enough to keep it magical :o)
This year, we had so many festive activities planned leading up to the big day, so it felt like we’ve been celebrating for a month straight! We went to see the Christmas Lights at our county park which is always a huge and exciting event! We watched tons of Christmas movies, drank our fill of hot chocolate, and had our annual Christmas cookie baking day!

All of the grandparents went in on the most epic swing-set for the backyard. I was trying to figure out how to make it a surprise and magically have it set up for Christmas morning, but considering the directions said it took 36 man-hours to build, that would have been impossible. So, alas, we gave them the big news and let them participate in the man-hours. They weren’t upset about it.

We decorated the house from top to bottom in all the Christmas decorations, which was SO fun to do in our new house. And we had Christmas music playing throughout the house on the daily.

We went to Stew’s parents’ house on Christmas Eve, which was a blast! Then we made sure we were home in time to put cookies and carrots out for Santa and get in bed nice and early!

And then, of course, Christmas morning was just amazing. I woke up first and got our coffee. Then Turner came in our room around 5:45. We snuggled and waited for Gracie to wake up, which was about 6:30. Then we went down to open presents. I threw some monkey bread in the oven while we opened, and it smelled up the house like gooey cinnamon sugar.

I’m always sad when Christmas is over. There’s so much excitement leading up to it, and then it’s over, just like that! But I really am looking forward to a new year. We have lots of projects and plans in the making, and I know it will be another good one! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas full of memories, new and old, and time with the ones you love!
