I know I say this every year, but this Halloween was THE BEST! Turner is almost 6 and Gracie is 3. So, between the two of them, the excitement level was through the roof! I came home from work early to get them dressed and put on their makeup! We went all out this year.
Turner was a vampire (thanks Amazon), and Gracie was a Vampire Ghost Princess. That girl is too much! Some tulle, elastic ribbon, and a hot glue gun later, and we were in business! I threw together a witch costume real quick. And by costume, I mean a $3 witch’s hat from Target. I always think I’ll be creative and then the day creeps up on me. Stew didn’t dress up or he’d be in our picture :o)
Regardless of our lack of costume game, we had a great time! We are in a new neighborhood so didn’t really know what to expect. We had exactly 1 trick or treater before we hit the road. We left a bowl of candy on the porch and came home to it untouched. We, however, got spoiled because every house had candy for us!
But even more exciting than the candy is what Halloween means. And that is the kick off to ALLLLL the holidays!!! Today was the day I packed away the Halloween decor and prepped for the Thanksgiving/Christmas bridge decorations. You know, the I’ll-keep-a-pumpkin-or-two-out-but-really-I’m-busting-out-the-window-candles-and-Christmas-decorations-this-weekend. Who’s with me!!??
